‘Zippos Circus’ has been shortlisted as one of the 50 final artworks for the British Art Prize 2025. It will be featured in the prize exhibition at Oxo Gallery, London November 26-30th and will be available to buy both online and at the exhibition.

‘I was delighted to see your painting of Zippos Circus at Hampstead Heath under an ominous sky. I started my career as Zippo the Clown over 50 years ago and after touring the world with my clown company started Zippos Circus in a small 300 seat marquee in 1986. Since then Zippos has become the largest and most popular circus, touring throughout the British Isles from Brighton on the south coast to Inverness and beyond in Scotland every year.

We started visiting Hampstead Heath 25 years ago and it has been a regular venue for late October ever since. Your painting shows our new Italian Big Top tent now 3 years old. It was specially designed for Zippos Circus and seats 1200 people in comfort and warmth.
